ABOUT THIS WATERSHED
The Tethys cairn has been placed at sites following the water from the Courtois and Huzzah and into the Meramec. This additional location is at the southern edge of St. Louis County, about 55 feet east of the Meramec River bank in The Earl Widman County Park. The park has had limited access since repeated flooding (most recently in 2008, 2009 and 2010) made maintenance difficult. Watershed Cairns joined the Arnold Stream Team, Conservation Federation of Missouri, and volunteers from St. Louis Community College Meramec to clean up the park on March 28, 2015. In one morning, the group removed 151 passenger, 15 tractor-trailer, and 3 earthmover tires, along with thousands of pounds of assorted trash, evidence of the debris carried by the floodwater and illegal dumping.
