BYGONE BRIDGE
Walnut Street Causeway, Hudson, Wisconsin—September 2016 44° 58’ 17”N 92° 46’ 02”W Elevation 720 feet
The concrete pillars are the remnants of Hudson’s Highway 12 toll bridge that carried traffic over the St. Croix River between Minnesota and Wisconsin until being replaced in 1995 by Interstate 94. The old toll bridge was removed, but the long road into the river remains as a pedestrian walkway. The city of Hudson, founded in 1840, was originally called Willow River for the waterway north of the town. http://tourism.discoverhudsonwi.com/list/category/parks-beaches-482
