CROW WING CONFLUENCE

Crow Wing State Park, Brainerd, Minnesota—June 2016 46° 9' 39.3834"N 94° 12' 22.068"W

The Blue Buoy cairn makes an appearance at the confluence of the Crow Wing and Mississippi rivers on the group campground’s shoreline in Crow Wing State Park. This spot, south of Crow Wing Island, is a popular canoe launching site and fishing area.  The river and the park are named for Old Crow Wing, one of the most populous towns in Minnesota in the 1860s that was located here.
