Brooklyn Park, Minnesota—June 2016 45° 08’ 32”N 93° 18’ 43”W Elevation 830 feet

This location on West River Road N, near 99th Avenue, is just below the Coon Rapids Dam. Hydropower, produced by the many dams in Minnesota, generates most of the state’s electricity. This public access area with giant tree roots indicating the force of water when released form the dam, provides recreation and food for local fishermen who were catching lots of fish a few feet up river from this site.
